What can i do to get my mind off this issue?

he's probably waiting for the right time to ask you out. maybe he's taking it slow because he really wants this relationship to last. don't worry about him talking to other girls, every guy does it but it doesn't mean much, they could be just friends. just give it a little more time and see how things go then maybe you can casually ask "so where do we stand now?"
