Theres a plant in a hypertonic environment( seawater)...what happens to the plant and why?

The hypertonic environment has a higher solute concentration than conditions on the other side of the cell membrane. Water diffuses from high water concentration to low. So water diffuses out of the cell. This causes the cell cytoplasm to shrink (plasmolysis).
