Ticket fee for running a red light and being caught on camera?

Its Over A$200 in australia, (queensland specifically) and 3 points off your licence and yes you can appeal but unless you have the number plate of the car that was pushing you, you wont stand much of a chance unless you get a solicitor to get a copy of the tape if there is any around pointing at the road, usually from shopping centres, servo's that sort of thing, you could end up paying alot more by fighting it also!
