Which car should we buy?

Lately, my parents have been discussing which car to buy. For a while, we were set on the acura MDX or honda pilot but because of the ridiculous gas prices, they've reconsidered the idea of buying a toyota camry or toyota avalon. All of you who have SUVS, are you killing your wallet with the gas it takes to fill up your tank? Also, can i have some input in what car my parents should purchase. Thank you for any answers!
